Tony's Prayer Quilt

Dean Hurley Dean Hurley, one of Tony's co-workers from TRD and a friend for over seven years, had a prayer quilt commissioned for Tony through his church. According to Dean, several parishioners (which includes his wife, Kathie) at Christ Presbyterian Church of Huntington Beach had begun to work on the quilt shortly after Tony's accident.

The idea behind a prayer quilt is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with square knots. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt. Tony received his quilt in July 2005.

Tony's Prayer Quilt

The label on Tony's prayer quilt explains the prayer concept further. The picture on the right is a close-up of one of the blue prayer knots. Blue Prayer Knot

This quilt was made for you, Tony, with love, hope, and prayers.

Each knot represents a prayer that was said for you.

Many people say that prayer is the most precious gift that can be given to someone. Tony has been blessed to have so many people offer such gifts, and he will need your prayers even more right now as he begins yet a new phase of healing.

Tony's Prayer Circle

Tony's Prayer Circle Since the Fall of 2005, we have been sending expedited bulletins in email to Tony's Prayer Circle. This very special group of friends from all over the country has been answering the call to help in prayer on any given day that Tony needed it most. With his condition more stabilized now, we thank everyone who has kept Tony in their thoughts and prayers.

If you would like to be part of Tony's Prayer Circle, check out the prayer page for more details.
